Privacy Policy
Effective 22 October 2026
The short version: to remove a background, your photo is sent to our cloud processing provider and the result comes straight back to your phone. We don't keep your photos, we don't have accounts, and your cutouts and history stay on your device. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device data to serve them.
Who we are
BG Zen (Android) is made by Pragovex Studio ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use BG Zen and this website. Contact us at support@bgzen.com.
Photos you process
When you tap Remove Background:
- The app resizes the photo to at most 2048 pixels on its longest side and sends it over an encrypted connection to our server, which runs on Cloudflare.
- Our server passes the photo to our AI processing provider, Replicate, and streams the cutout back to your phone. Our server does not save your photo or the result.
- Replicate automatically removes the inputs and outputs of each processing job about one hour after it runs. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not look at them.
Only the photos you choose to process are sent. Nothing is uploaded until you tap Remove Background.
Keeping the service safe
- When the app is first installed it creates a random install ID and sends it with each photo you process. Our server uses it, together with your IP address, only to limit how many photos can be processed per minute and to stop abuse. It isn't linked to your name, account, advertising ID or device identifiers, and it resets if you clear the app's data.
- Our server keeps a daily count of how many photos are processed in total (no IDs or photos) so we can spot unusual traffic. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may keep short-lived technical logs such as IP address and request time for security and troubleshooting.
Data that stays on your device
- Saved cutouts and History are stored on your phone only. You can delete them in the app's History screen at any time.
- Images you save go to your phone's gallery.
- App preferences (for example, whether you've seen the welcome screen) are stored on your phone.
Permissions
- Camera — only to take a photo inside the app, when you choose to.
- Photos — Android's photo picker gives the app only the photos you select.
- Saving to gallery — to save the cutouts you choose to keep.
- Internet — to process photos, show ads, and check whether an app update is required.
Advertising
BG Zen is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device's advertising ID, device and app information, IP address and approximate location derived from it, and how you interact with ads. This is handled by Google under Google's policy for partner apps and the Google Privacy Policy.
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in your phone's settings (Settings › Google › Ads, or Settings › Privacy › Ads, depending on your phone).
What we don't do
- We don't require an account or ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't keep copies of your photos.
If you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply and improve BG Zen. Ask us to delete it at any time.
Children
BG Zen is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Photos are sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we keep what we handle to the minimum needed to provide the service.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your History and saved cutouts in the app, or uninstall the app to remove all app data from your phone.
- Control ad personalisation and your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
- Ask us any question about your data, or to delete anything we hold, at support@bgzen.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change how BG Zen handles your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
