Common questions

The cutout missed part of my photo, or kept something it shouldn't.

On the result screen, tap Erase / Restore. Use Erase to remove leftovers and Restore to bring back parts that were cut away. Pinch with two fingers to zoom in (the tool switches to Move so you don't paint by accident), and use the Offset slider to keep the brush visible above your finger.

Where are my saved images?

Saved cutouts go to your phone's gallery. Everything you've saved also appears in the app's History tab.

Is my photo uploaded? Do you keep it?

Yes, it's sent to our cloud AI to remove the background, and the result comes straight back. We don't save it, and our processing provider deletes it automatically shortly afterwards. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Can I use it for passport or ID photos?

Yes — choose Color on the result screen for plain document backgrounds like white, light grey, light blue, ID blue and ID red. Requirements vary by country, so check the official rules before submitting.

My photo came out sideways or mirrored.

Use the Rotate and Mirror buttons at the top of the result screen.

Why are there ads?

Ads keep BG Zen free — every cutout costs us money to process in the cloud.

How do I delete my history?

Open the History tab, tap Select to delete individual images, or use the … menu to clear everything. Uninstalling the app also removes all of its data from your phone.
